The guests! :)
Its been ages since I updated this blog! blame it on not having traveled anywhere....life sucks when one has to stay put in one place! But i see lot of traveling in the near future so nothing to worry about now.. I plan to go meet a few friends living elsewhere this holidays but I have had a few friends over this week, they came uninvited... but they left very soon..just after I took these pics!
This cat is actually a frequent visitor, my mum sometimes gives her a cup of milk... she quietly drinks it and leaves! This is where she is found most of the time.. outside my kitchen window!
There are 3 new baby squirrels in my building now. God knows I hate the noise they make, They squeak! but this baby was so cute! I am still not sure about touching them or holding them though... for one they are so tiny and I get nervous! The kids named one of them cherry and came to me for suggestions for the other two names. So the three siblings are now named - cherry, chubby and Chip :)
Also, I have heard that once you touch a squirrel the other squirrels don't let them into their group... is that true?

A shiny spider, you can't see clearly but it was the prettiest, most non-scary spidy ever! :) oh I found it on my mum's saree by the way!

Legend has it that if you whisper your wish into this Nandi's ear and touch his tail and pray, your wishes will come true. When it does, you are expected to get enough butter to cover him with it! That's what this poojari told me. I whispered my wish :) *there is something about this place you know.... its peaceful..and something more.. I don't know maybe it is the location,almost a 5000 feet above sea level and a killer view!

This was just a storage room where the Tippu sultan's army kept all kinds of ammunition and stuff. That hardly interests me. What was interesting was this building itself. This is one of the very few structures left that has been constructed using a particular technique called 'vajragaare' what that exactly means is that the binding material here used instead of cement is a mixture of egg white, jaggery and sunna. cool eh? and its pretty strong to have lasted hundreds of years! But the very harmonal, love struck, bollywood inspired youth of today rather just carve hearts and declare their love on this! Exactly what tippu intended when he bulit this i am sure!!

this is an old temple on nandi hills. Not many people know of its existence. Just take the path that leads downwards from the joy ice cream shop and you will land here, along the way is an old tippu sultan's ammunition storage room which is now in the worst possible condition (see photo titled 'history in ruins')
